The ‘Jagadguru Kripalu Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital’ and ‘Odisha Yoga and Naturopathy Foundation’ jointly organized a workshop on “Lifestyle Management through Yoga and Naturopathy Workshop” on 5th Dec. The one day workshop brought together eminent doctors, naturopathy therapists and medical students to discuss the role of yoga and naturopathy in managing people’s lifestyles.
Swami Mukundananda was the keynote speaker. In his address, Swamiji presented the Vedic perspective of good health through the panchakosha model. He explained that we need to take care of the annamaya kosha through proper diet and yogasans. The pranamaya kosha must be stabilized through pranayama. The manomaya kosha is to cleansed of anger, desire, hatred, envy, etc. through meditation. The vigyanamaya kosha should be illumined through the knowledge of the scriptures. And the anandamaya kosha should be nourished through bliss attained in devotion to God. Hence, good health requires a holistic approach including various aspects of our lifestyle.
The other speakers of the day were Dr Jayant Panda, Dr Ashok Dora, Dr Bejoy Pushti, Shree Satya Rai, and Dr Kripasindhu. All the eminent panelists expressed that the JKYoga and Naturopathy Hospital was the perfect setting for this educative conference on Naturopathy. They unanimously recommended that such workshops should be held every month, to promote knowledge and awareness of Naturopathy in the State of Odisha.
